The Plano Posse Polocrosse Club

Welcome to the Plano Posse Polocrosse Club, where friends, families and their horses team up for weekends of playing, camping and competing. The Plano Posse Polocrosse Club was formed in the fall of 2001 to promote the game of polocrosse in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Plano Posse’s inaugural appearance at the Lone Star Fiesta tournament in Coupland, Texas, March 23-24, 2002. Pam Gayler played our 1, Betsy Egan was the 2, and Audrey Schmidt was the 3.

We are in good standing with and operate under the guidelines of the Rules and Regulations of the American Polocrosse Association. Officers are elected annually in accordance with the club by-laws. Our club colors are purple and gold, and our practice field is located at Bob Woodruff Park in Plano, just 30 minutes northeast of downtown Dallas.

Plano Posse’s Dominic Packer, age 6, stretching for the ball in the white number 2 position.

We have a split playing season with the spring tournaments being held from March to May and the fall tournaments usually played in September and October.  During the hot summer months you’ll find teams traveling north to play in mountains of Colorado or having Saturday night / Sunday morning events.  The Lone Star Club in Austin has a lighted field and usually hosts night games during the summer.

During the playing season, practices will be scheduled on the weekends as often as we can fit them in.  In the off season, we will post a regular practice schedule and will focus on recruiting and building the club.

Annual membership dues are $25 for individuals (18 years and older), $15 for juniors (17 years and under) and $75 for families. Membership in the APA is also required for participation in any sanctioned tournament. Use this link to the APA web page for membership and dues information. www.americanpolocrosse.org.

There are no limits on age or breed of members or their horses, just a requirement for a fun-loving attitude for good sportsmanship and competition. Equipment requirements include a helmet, racquet, ball, saddle without a horn, leg wraps and bell boots for your horse.

We invite you to come out to a practice and see what you’ve been missing!
